Yesterday afternoon, at approximately 19:30, two flares fell in the courtyard in front of the house of the Israeli Prime Minister
Three suspects were arrested after two were shot flares near the residence of the Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu, who was not there when the incident occurred, the police announced this morning and Israel’s internal security agency Shin Bet.
“During the night three suspects were arrested for their involvement in the incident,” which was noted in Caesarea in central Israel, they said in a statement, adding that the Israeli judiciary has banned for a period of 30 days the publication of information about the ongoing investigation as well as about the identity of the suspects.
Yesterday evening, at approximately 19:30 (local time and Greek time), two flares fell in the courtyard in front of the Israeli Prime Minister’s residence, according to the police and the Shin Bet who spoke of a “serious incident” and ” dangerous escalation”.
Its president Knesset Amir Ohana blamed the anti-Netanyahu protest movement for the attack, while Israeli President Isaac Herzog warned against “an escalation of violence in the political sphere”.
The judicial reform promoted by Netanyahu and his far-right partners deeply divided Israel in 2023 and sparked one of the largest anti-government protest movements in Israeli history.
Netanyahu’s critics demanded that the reform not go ahead and that he leave the prime ministership, as he is accused of corruption in a series of criminal cases.
Reform has been frozen since the start of the war between Israel and Hamas on October 7, 2023, but the anti-Netanyahu movement continues to hold demonstrations, albeit on a smaller scale.
On October 22, the house of the Israeli prime minister was targeted by a drone launched by Hezbollah, causing minor material damage.
