The chief of the general staff of Belarus – a staunch ally of Russia – called the decision on the missiles “irresponsible”.
A top defense official of Belarus, a staunch ally of Russia, today condemned the US decisions to supply Ukraine with anti-personnel mines and allow it to use US long-range ballistic missiles against Russia, the state-run Russian news agency RIA reported today.
The agency cited Major General Pavel Muraveiko, First Deputy Minister of Defense and Chief of the General Staff of Belarus, who called the missile decision irresponsible.
Yesterday, Tuesday, Ukraine used US ATACMS missiles to attack Russian territory, taking advantage of the recent permission it received for this use from the outgoing US administration.
On the same day, Russian President Vladimir Putin approved an updated nuclear decree that would allow Russia to consider using nuclear weapons if it or Belarus faced a nuclear or conventional attack against them.
