Mystery surrounds Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, as Kyiv denies that Israeli Prime Minister “told Zelensky to accept Putin’s termination proposal”
The Jerusalem Post quoted an unnamed Ukrainian government official as saying that the offer made by telephone this week contained many Ukrainian sacrifices, but that Zelensky had chosen not to follow Bennett’s advice.
The source allegedly claimed that the phone call was started by the Israeli Prime Minister, who said to the Ukrainian leader: “If I were you, I would think about the lives of my people and accept the offer.”
Zelensky’s answer, according to the newspaper, was simply: “I hear you.”
According to the report, the Ukrainian president and his advisers did not like the advice that Bennett allegedly gave.
“Bennett told us to surrender,” the Ukrainian official was quoted as saying, noting that “we have no intention of doing so.” “We know Putin’s offer is just the beginning.”
