Company cargo aircraft DHL crashed today around 05:30 (Greece time) near its airport Vilniuskilling one person and injuring others, according to Airport, Police and Fire officials.

The plane, operated by SWIFT airlines on behalf of DHL, was coming from Leipzig and crashed into a residence, a spokesman for the government’s National Crisis Management Center said.

All residents of the home survived, he added.

The first footage circulating on social media showed firefighters at 07:30 (Greece time) pouring water as smoke rose from a building about 1.3 kilometers north of the airport runway in the Lithuanian capital.

There is an extensive presence of police and ambulances in the area, while central neighboring roads have been blocked.
