Powerful firefighting forces were mobilized to extinguish a fire that broke out earlier today in the historic building of National Theater in Prague.

The fire broke out under unclear circumstances just before 3 pm (local time, 4:00 pm in Greece). Thick smoke billowed from the building’s second-floor windows, as shown in videos broadcast by Czech media.

The Czech News Agency (ČTK) reports that, according to the information from the fire department, around 100 people have safely left the building.

The fire was brought under control a few hours later and one injury was reported, according to a spokesman for the Prague fire department.
