About 5.5 years ago the unthinkable happened. Its iconic cathedral Notre Dame engulfed in flames, with the result that a significant part of it was completely burnt. From a mistake, a bad moment, in the place where renovation work was being done, it caused a huge disaster and global shock. It’s been 5.5 years since then and now it’s time to reopen. Tomorrow Friday (29/11), Emmanuel Macron will take on the role of… tour guide, and in a televised tour, the French president will present for the first time images from the inside of the renovated church, marking in essence, its re-opening .

The devastating fire in 2019 in the Gothic cathedral had caused worldwide shock. The images of Notre Dame burning, had stigmatized not only the French, but millions of people around the world. Work on its reconstruction began immediately.

More than 700 million euros had to be spent and 1,300 workers worked day and night in order for the project to be completed and the iconic Notre-Dame de Paris ready to open its gates to the public again.

Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitteput aside for a few hours their heavy political obligations and “travel” France and the world, in another era. We are shown the interior of the temple for the first time. The lucky few who have entered the Temple have declared that the experience is awe-inspiring.

The official opening of the renovated Notre Dame Cathedral is scheduled for December 7. Until then, we can get a first impression from the “tour” of the French presidential couple.
