A fine of 30,000 rubles (255 euros) was imposed by a Russian court on journalist Marina Ovsyannikova, an employee of Russia’s first public television channel, who cut off the station’s main news bulletin by holding a placard behind the anti-war presenter in Ukraine.
Obsyanikova was found guilty of violating the law on protests, for yesterday’s protest against the war in Ukraine on the set of the first channel of public television, as reported by Reuters, citing RIA Novosti.
It is recalled that the journalist, yesterday, during the news bulletin appeared holding the placard that read “no to war” while shouting slogans against the Russian invasion.
Following the court ruling, Ovsyannikova spoke to the media, expressing her gratitude to all those who supported her.
