Rama: Protests over accuracy and corruption “in favor of Putin”

by

As protests against punctuality, high taxes and government corruption continued for the sixth day in a row in Tirana, Prime Minister Eddie Rama He said an official in Brussels had told him that the protests were in Russia’s favor.

These are the largest demonstrations in the recent history of Albania and have taken place in many cities across the country.

Citizens are demanding lower taxes for the poor, higher taxes for the oligarchs, and finally a state they say has been captured by the business elite and a fair standard of living.

Rama and has repeatedly tell the protesters to be ashamed of themselves as he is the only NATO member to complain about the “consequences of the war in Ukraine”.

Yesterday, after the sixth protest outside his office, he claimed that an official in Brussels contacted him and said: “I read a message that came to me two days ago from Brussels where he tells me”you know who is behind them the demonstrations in Tirana? “Russia has high hopes for economic protests.”

He went on to say that those protesting risked becoming a tool of foreign interests, such as that of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
