The Israeli army announced today, Friday, that two “missiles” were fired into Israeli territory from the northern Gaza Strip.

“Two missiles passed into Israeli territory from the northern Gaza Strip. One of them fell near Kibbutz Nir Am and the second in an uninhabited area.” the military stressed.

Since last week, there have been a series of rocket attacks from the northern part of the Palestinian enclave towards Israeli territory, according to the Israeli military, which stressed that all of these missiles were either intercepted or landed in uninhabited areas, without causing any injuries.

The Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz threatened on Wednesday that the Jewish state would increase the intensity of its bombing of the Gaza Strip if Hamas continued to target Israel.

“If Hamas does not soon allow the release of the Israeli hostages held in Gaza (…) and continues to fire missiles at the Israeli population, Hamas is exposing itself to heavy blows that Gaza has seen in a long time” , threatened the Israeli minister.

The Israeli army intensified its ground and air offensive in the northern part of the Gaza Strip from October 6, 2024, to prevent, according to it, the regrouping of units of the military arm of Hamas.

The 15-month-old war was sparked by an unprecedented raid by Hamas militants on southern sectors of Israeli territory on October 7, 2023, which killed 1,208 people on the Israeli side, mostly civilians, according to an AFP tally based on in official figures of its authorities Israel.

Above 45,550 Palestinians died in the large-scale Israeli military retaliatory operations in the Gaza Strip that followed, mostly civilians, according to the Hamas Health Ministry in the Palestinian enclave, reliably characterized by the UN.
