The Russian forces find it difficult to overcome the challenges posed by the morphology of Ukrainian territory, according to the morning briefing of the British Ministry of Defense on the development of military conflicts.
As noted, Russian forces have largely remained “tied” to Ukraine’s road network and have shown reluctance to maneuver away from that road network.
In addition, another reason that has played a “decisive role” in delaying the Russian advance is the destruction of bridges by Ukrainian forces.
It also points out that the Russians’ inability to gain control of the ethers has “drastically” reduced their ability to use maneuvers effectively, further limiting their options.
Finally, the British Ministry of Defense comments that the tactics of the Ukrainian armed forces have skillfully taken advantage of the absence of Russian maneuvers, hindering the Russian advance and causing heavy losses to the invading forces.
