Prince Harry and Meghan Markle opened their Montecito mansion to host friends who were forced to leave their homes due to the devastating fire in southern California, which has already left 10 dead and thousands of acres of burned land.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex also called on other Los Angeles residents to do the same in a post on their website, Sussex.com.

“If a friend, loved one or pet needs to evacuate and you can offer them a safe haven in your home, do so. And be sure to ‘check in’ on any disabled or elderly neighbors to see if they need help evacuating,” the couple urged.
“Please consider donating clothes, children’s toys and other essentials,” they wrote, adding that the American Red Cross is in the fire-stricken areas and helping those in need.
“Harry and Meghan have already done so,” according to The Telegraph, and are “working with their staff from the Archewell Foundation to identify the most effective ways of supporting the community.”
