The strongest earthquakes of 6 and 7.4 on the Richter scale were recorded earlier in Japan.
In accordance with Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Centerthe 6-magnitude earthquake occurred at 23:36 local time (16:36 Greek time) with a epicenter of 63 kilometers in the city of Sendai and two minutes later followed the strongest, 7.4 magnitude earthquake.

In fact, in the areas where the earthquake took place, there is a tsunami alert from the local competent authorities.
The quake affected Fukushima and Miyagi prefectures in northeastern Japan, according to an initial estimate by NHK Public Television.
Power outages were also reported in Tokyo neighborhoods.
