Meanwhile, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has also denounced abduction of the mayor of the city of Skadovsk in Kherson. Ukraine also claims that the mayor of the city of Dnipropetrovsk, Yevgeny Matveyev, has been abducted.

According to Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba, Mayor Alexander Yakovlev and his deputy, Yuri Paliukh, have been abducted. Russia claims control of the entire Kherson region after occupying the city from the beginning of the invasion.
This is not the first time Ukrainian officials have been abducted since the start of the war.
