The Israel Defense Forces (IDF), as part of its expansion of operations in the West Bank, on Monday launched a drone strike in the town of Tulkarem, during which the local Hamas leader was killed.

The attack, as the IDF and Shin Bet said in a joint statement, was targeted the extermination of Ihab Abu Atwi. They also added that another Hamas official was killed in the attack.

According to the Palestinian news agency Wafa, the second man was Ramez Damiri.

The IDF reported that Abu Atwi had been involved in many attacks against Israelisas in the July 2024 gun attack on a car that injured three people.

The Israeli military also released a video of the drone attack.
