Blinken-Tsavousoglu phone call about the war in Ukraine

The US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken thanked her today Turkey for the role she plays, helping her Ukraine in the midst of the Russian invasion.

“Minister Blinken thanked Turkey for its commitment to Ukraine’s national sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as for its efforts to assist Ukraine in this time of need,” said State Department spokesman Ned Pryce.

The President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan he had contact via phone today with his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Zelensky, to which he said Ankara is making “intensive” diplomatic efforts to achieve a speedy ceasefire. In a Twitter post, Zelenski thanked Erdogan for his “significant support”. “I had talks with a friend of Ukraine, President Erdogan,” he wrote, noting that “the progress of the people’s struggle against the ongoing attack” and “ways to strengthen the peaceful dialogue” were discussed.
