The Civil Aviation Federal Service said tonight that the right wing of a Japan Airlines jet hit the tail section of a Delta Air Lines aircraft while driving at Siatl-Takoma International Airport.

FAA temporarily suspended some flights to this airport because of the incident, which is being investigated.

Delta’s aircraft, a Boeing 738-800 with 142 passengers and destination in Puerto Vagiarta, was waiting for the expulsion process to be completed when it was hit by Japan Airline’s Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, which had landed from Tokyo.

Delta has announced that no injuries were reported and its passengers will travel by another aircraft. The company will also work with FAA and other research services.

Japan Airlines did not respond immediately to a request for a comment.
