“We’re not in a hurry.
Donald Trump said today that “there is no hurry” to his plan for Gaza, according to which the United States will take control of Palestinian territory, empty of its residents, to build building projects in the pocket projects and do residential development.
“We are not in a hurry, there is no hurry,” the US president told reporters at the White House.
Gaza will “surrender to the United States by Israel at the end of the battles,” he said on Thursday. Until then, the Palestinians “will have already been relocated” elsewhere, specifically to Egypt or Jordan.
These two countries rejected this particular option, which caused an international outcry, with the UN warning of the danger of “ethnic cleansing”. This proposal was rejected in the most categorical way by Hamas as well as the Palestinian Authority on the occupied West Bank.
Very unclear in detail of its implementation, this plan, however, removes the prospect, over time, of a two -state solution to settle the Israeli -Palestinian conflict, which lasts almost 80 years.
This settlement is supported by a large part of the international community, including the United States so far, but Israel is strongly opposed to it.
