Kibbuts Kisufim announced the death of 86 -year -old Slomo Mansour – his family hoped he was alive
An elderly Israeli killed by Hamas on October 7, 2023 and then his body was abducted by the gunmen and transferred to the Gaza Strip, was officially declared dead today.
“With a heavy heart, we, the members of Kibutuch, received the news of our beloved friend Slomo Mansour, aged 86, who had been abducted from his home in Kibutz Kisoufim during Hamas’s terrorist attack on October 7th. 2023 ”, according to Kibutz’s announcement in southern Israel, where Homer lived (Courtsy Kibbutz Kissufim).
Slomos Mansour was the oldest hosting who was held prisoner in Gaza. His family hoped he was alive and today was informed by the Israeli army that he was assassinated by Hamas on October 7th. His body is still held in Gaza.

His wife, Mazal Mansour, with whom she has been together for 60 years, managed to escape that attack. The couple had five children.
The Israeli prime minister sent his condolences to the family, stating that Mansour was “a builder of the country and founder of Kibutch Kisufim” and notes that as a child he survived the Farchund pogrom that took place against his Jews.
“We share the deep mourning of the family. We will not rest and we will not be silent until they bring him back to Israel. We will continue to act with determination until we return all the hostages, alive and dead, “said Benjamin Netanyahu.
Of the 76 remaining hostages in the Gaza Strip, the IDFs have confirmed death 36.
Kibbuts called on the Israeli government and the international community to “continue to act with determination to bring back all the hostages, alive or dead, and not to allow painful stories like that of Slom.”
