US Special Envoy for Ukraine, Kloghe told the security conference today that talks aimed at ending the war between Russia and Ukraine could focus on territorial concessions from Russia and target Russia’s revenue from oil.

“Russia is actually a country -based country,” Klogek told the security conference, adding that western powers should do more to effectively impose sanctions on Russia.

As he said, Putin should make territorial concessions.

He went on to say that it is still too early to say when US President Donald Trump’s plan will be ready for Ukraine, as the Trump government is in power only 25 days.

The US president’s expert envoy added, however, that it is vital for Russian President Putin to engage in talks on ending the war between Ukraine and Russia.

“Whether you like it or not, it must be chatted with opponents,” Kloger said. “As a great Minister of Defense had once said, General Matisse: I may not like this bastard, but I have to talk to him,” he said characteristically.

He also said that the US is set to break Russia’s alliances with North Korea, China and Iran.
