The Russian forces gradually escalated their military operations in eastern Ukraine yesterday, Saturday, and the main attacks focused on areas near Pokrovsk, a significant dubbish hub, the Ukrainian army announced today.

Russian troops have been moving to Pokrovsk for weeks as part of their steady advance in Donetsk region in eastern Ukraine, occupying a series of villages in the area.

Army stated that they were noted 261 military clashes in the last 24 hourscompared to just about 100 in the previous days. Almost one -third of all battles focused on areas near Pokrovsk.

Damage to infrastructure and homes

Of the night Russian air strikes at least one injured was injured while a fire broke out in an infrastructure building in Mikolaif, in the southern part of Ukraine, according to Ukrainian officials today.

The fire in a Micolaif building was quickly extinguished, said Vitali Kim, commander of the Mikolaif region in a Telegram post. It was not immediately clear what kind of infrastructure was affected.

Five apartment buildings and several shops and office spaces were damaged due to the fall of fragments of unmanned aircraft (drones), Kim added.

In the Kiev region, several houses have suffered damage to a Russian air attack, as the Ukrainian state emergency service said via Telegram. There were no injuries, according to the same source.

The full size of the night attack in Ukraine was not immediately clear. There were no direct comments on the Russian side.
