“There are no suspects,” the police said, “no information on motivation or whether the three victims are linked” – does not exclude a second attack
Three people were deadly shot outside a driving license office in Louisville Kentucky on Friday, and the perpetrators fled with a vehicle, police said.
The victims were in the parking lot, the Louisville Metro police station said in a statement posted on social media. One man died on the spot and two women were taken to the hospital where they were killed, police said.
According to Nytimes, there are no “suspects,” the police said in the statement. When asked if the shot was suicide, Major Donald Beekman, a department commander, said no.
Major Beekman said in a press conference broadcast on local television stations that officials were still investigating, watching videos and interrogating witnesses. The police have no information on the motivation or if the three victims are linked, he said.
“There is no indication that this violent act will stop here, or is to extend beyond what happened,” Police reported email after a press conference. “While we always suggest people watch out for their environment and taking normal precautions, there was no sign of increased risk to the public.”
Allen Blair, a spokesman for the Kentucky Council of Transport Council, who oversees the State Licensing Offices, said the shot was outside the building and the officials in the office were safe.
“We really had security in the office and locked the building immediately”he said. “Employees leave and the office will be closed the rest of the day.”
