Accident for the queen: Elizabeth injured – What the palace says |

by

Queen Elizabeth, who has canceled all her public appearances for the past two weeks at the urging of her doctors, announced in a palace announcement that she would not be “present” at the Remembrance Day celebrations in Britain.

The palace announced that the 95-year-old monarch will not attend due to the fact that she has injured her back, stating that she is disappointed that she will miss the event.

“The queen, having injured her back, decided this morning with great regret that she will not be able to attend today’s service,” the announcement read.

She had previously stated that she was confident she would be in attendance after taking time off from her duties for health reasons. Doctors had advised the monarch to rest until mid-November, after spending a night in hospital on October 20 for examinations.

On Remembrance Day, as in previous years, a wreath will be laid by His Majesty by the Prince of Wales.

The Duchess of Cornwall, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, the Earl and Countess of Wessex and The Princess Royal will attend as scheduled.
