After the failed Trump -Zelenski meeting at the White House, the US president said Ukraine is not ready for peace
The Trump government is considering stopping any military aid to Ukraine, a senior White House official told the Washington Post on Friday.
The official said the government is considering stopping the dollar radar, ammunition vehicles and missiles awaiting a mission to Ukraine.
Zelenski had come to Washington to sign a controversial critical mineral agreement that Ukraine would open its huge wealth in the United States. However, it did not include US security guarantees to frustrate Ukraine.
The deal would enable Washington the opportunity to be compensated through an investment reconstruction fund linked to the sale of Ukraine’s rare landscales for some of the billions of dollars that cost the US weapons they supplied to Kiev.
During the meeting, Trump and Vance accused Zelenski of being ungrateful for America’s financial and military support during the war.
In addition, according to the Reuters news agency, US President Donald Trump is currently not interested in reconsidering the agreement on Ukraine minerals, according to a White House official.
“The Ukrainian delegation was” begging “to sign the deal as soon as the Trump-Chalenski episode was completed and she was asked to leave the White House.”said the official.
Isn’t Ukraine ready for peace?
‘Either you make an agreement or we are out of’the US president said, and then accused President Zelenski for “Invisible comments”.
‘If you didn’t have our military equipment’, continued Trump“Ukraine would have lost the war in weeks.” And added: “You have to be grateful. But you’re not grateful at all, and that’s not nice. I will be honest. It’s not a nice thing. “
In a later post on Truth Social, after meeting between leaders at the Oval Office, Trump wrote that he believed he believed that Ukraine is not ready for peace.
“He’s not ready for peace. I have decided that President Zelenski is not ready for peace with America’s involvement, because he believes that our involvement gives him a great advantage in the negotiations. I don’t want an advantage, I want peace. He did not respect the United States of America in their oval office. May return when he is ready for peace ‘, said Trump.
Anonymous senior government official noted that he believed that Trump’s and Vance’s barrage in Zelenski was not pre -planned. He highlighted the government’s efforts to create a more positive tone for the meeting, including the fact that Trump withdrew his previous statement that Zelenski was “dictator” before Friday.
