Unlike the previous protest, the police this time has imposed restrictions on the number of tractors allowed to participate

Thousands of British farmers will return to downtown London at noon Tuesday to protest the changes in inheritance tax. The march will start from Whitehall and head to Parliament, where the demonstration is expected to be completed at 3pm (local time).
In contrast to the previous protest, which caused significant traffic delays, the police this time has imposed restrictions on the number of tractors who are allowed to participate. Most protesters will be on foot, while those who carry tractors without permission are at risk of arrest.
The protest comes as a reaction to the tax policy of labor, which proceed to impose a 20% inheritance tax on agricultural land and businesses worth more than £ 1 million. This change abolishes the previous tax exemption, which allowed family farms to be transferred without any extra financial weight.
Farmers point out that the new policy threatens the viability of many family businesses and are determined to continue their mobilizations. However, the government speaks of a “fair and balanced approach”.
