Foreign Minister US said Washington needs to have a general idea of what concessions can Ukrainians can make
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has been optimistic today for tomorrow’s meeting between US and Ukrainian officials in Saudi Arabia, although he noted that there are still some details that should be resolved on the agreement between Washington and Kiev.
Speaking to journalists on the way to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, Rubio said Washington needs to understand Ukraine’s position and have a general idea of what concessions the Ukrainians can make.
Ukraine President Volodimir Zelenski has already arrived in Jeddah, where he will meet with Prince Saudi Arabia’s successor Mohammed bin Salman, a day before tomorrow’s contacts with US officials.
Tomorrow’s talks will be the first official meeting of the two sides after Zelenski’s devastating visit to the White House, and earlier, US Special Envoy for the Middle East Steve Whitkov said he had “high expectations” that it would be made.
