A helicopter – ambulance crashed in the Mississippi area on Monday, killing a Med -Trans pilot and two hospital workers, according to Associated Press.

A spokesman for the University of Mississippi Medical Center confirmed the deaths of all occupants in the flight. The Aircare helicopter did not carry patients when it crashed in Madison County, north of the Jackson capital, the university said in a previous statement.

The families of the three victims were notified, but the authorities did not publish names to protect confidentiality. The university did not give the reason for the crash.

WAPT television stated that the Air Force Federal Authorities are on its way.

“It is a tragic reminder of the dangers that people are in the Mississippi emergency services daily to keep us safe”the Mississippi ruler told Facebook, Tate Reeves. “Our state will never forget the sacrifice of these heroes.”

As Mississippay.org reports, Med-Trans Vice President Dr. Lun Woodwardwhich hires helicopters at the Medical Center, he said at a press conference on Monday afternoon: “We have assumed a terrible tragedy and a loss.”

“We want to express our sadness and support for our Aircare team”, he said.

Woodward said Aircare3, based in Columbus, one of the four fleet helicopters, had just left a patient and refuted with fuel on the return trip when he crashed shortly after noon.

The sheriff of County Madison, Randy Tuckerhe said that citizens’ calls said: “It’s a difficult area to get,” noting that the site is in a wooded area, south of Natchez Trace and north of Pipeline Road.

Tucker also said that the federal aviation administration has arrived and the National Transport Security Council is on the way and will handle the investigation.

‘We don’t know the cause’, said Woodward.

The UMMC started the helicopter flight program in 1996. “In our program history, this is our first crash,” Woodward said, adding that under other circumstances it would be something worthwhile to boast.
