Last night, a family tragedy unfolded in the wider area of ​​Trento, northeast Italy. Nineteen -year -old Boyan Panic fatally stabbed his father, Simon, forty -six years.

According to the Italian media, the young man allegedly murdered his father to defend his mother, who has long been a victim of abuse by her husband.

“There was no other alternative, I murdered him with a knife because he continued to abuse my mother. Immediately afterwards I did everything I could to keep him in life but I didn’t manage and called the carabiniers“, The young man told the prosecutors. The nineteen -year -old waited for the carabiniers and the police next to his father’s corpse and was taken to prison.

It is a family of Bosnian descent, fully integrated into the social reality of the region. As many neighbors said, so far no apparent tensions have emerged.

This case, it seems, has many in common with that of eighteen -year -old Alex Chicken, who murdered his father on April 30, 2020, with thirty -four knives. The young man, in his confession, argued that he had to deprive his father’s life to help his mother, who was a victim of continuous beatings and threats from part of her husband. The young man, after the ruling of the Supreme Court, which requested a repeat of the trial, was acquitted by the Turin Court of Appeal and after a few months he decided to take his mother’s surname.
