Former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has been angered by British Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s unfortunate comparison of “Brexit resistance” to the war in Ukraine.
“How many Britons? killed because of Brexit? Zero. How many Ukrainians were killed by Russia’s crazy Putin? “Thousands,” Poroshenko told ITV, visibly irritated, making a characteristic gesture.
“Today alone we have more than 150 children killed by Russian soldiers and Russian artillery. “In the last week alone, two thousand children from Mariupol alone have been captured and handed over to Russia,” he said, wearing a bulletproof vest and armed soldiers around him.
“Can I ask you how many houses were destroyed because of Brexit? ” said the former president of Ukraine addressing Johnson.
“We have whole cities that have been erased (from the map). Starting from Mariupol, which is much worse than Aleppo (…) we have Butsa, Gostomel and Irpin… The city of Kiev was destroyed. “In this situation there is certainly no comparison,” Poroshenko clarified.
