Misleading online work offers focus on people who have worked in the US government and looking for new employment
The US said on Tuesday that Chinese intelligence services are using misleading methods to approach current and former US government officials.
The warning from the National Center for Background and Security comes amid mass federal redundancies led by the Doge Government Efficiency Department (Doge) by Ilon Musk.
“Foreign intelligence services, especially from China, are targeting now and former US government officials (USG) for recruitment, representing members of consulting companies and thinking tanks on social and professional websites”mentioned the center in his card.
The Center said that misleading online work offers and various other approach actions focus on people who have worked in the US government and are looking for new employment. He warned the current and former federal officials to be careful with such approaches.
He added that employees are obliged to protect federal data even after leaving their work.
The Reuters He has revealed data from a network of companies governed by a secret Chinese technology company and is trying to hire recently reduced US government officials.
