Harry and his wife Megan moved to the US after renounced their royal duties in 2020. Then they lost systematic protection of the police
Prince Harry’s lawyer warned that his “life is in danger” due to changes in his safety after leaving his royal duties, as the prince returned to the London Court of Appeal today for his appeal.
Wearing a dark suit and striped tie, Harry, the youngest son of King Charles, who rarely visits the British capital, again appeared before the court trying to overturn a decision by the interior ministry, which is responsible for the 20th.
“No one should forget the human dimension in this case: there is a man sitting behind me, whose safety and life are at risk“, Sahid Fatima’s lawyer told court, while Harry was watching her speech.
She had said in court documents yesterday that al -Qaeda recently called for the assassination of Harry and that he and his wife Megan were involved in a “dangerous paparazzi pursuit in New York City” in 2023.
Harry and his wife Megan moved to the US after renounced their royal duties in 2020. They then lost systematic protection of the police as provided for active members of the royal family, paid by British taxpayers, with the interior ministry choosing a protection.
The 40 -year -old today Harry appealed to justice in 2021 by questioning this decision. After his request was first rejected last year, he appealed.
Earlier, interior ministry lawyer James Indy defended the “per case” approach adopted by the British authorities, arguing that this approach is “better adapted” to the prince’s case.
A large part of the hearing was held today in camera because of the sensitive nature of the information on the safety of Harry and the threats to which it could be exposed.
The Court of Appeal will issue his decision in writing on a later date, “very likely” after Easter, Judge Jeffrey Vos said after the hearing.
