The fatal helicopter that led to death a family did not have flight data recorders – no information was recovered to help in the survey
The helicopter crashed on Thursday at the Hudson River in New York, resulting in the death of all six occupants, including three children, did not have flight recorders, the US National Transport Security Council (NTSB) announced.
A family from Spain was on the helicopter: a Siemens senior executive, their wife and their three children.
The debris of the Bell 206 helicopter did not retrieve videos or recorders, the council announced late Saturday night, while None of his components had recorded information that would help the survey.
New York police divers continue their investigations in search of sections of the helicopter, including the gearbox, the basic rotor, the rotor of the tail and the helicopter tail, as the security service said.
Some sections of the helicopter were recovered and sent to the NTSB laboratories in Washington for examination. Among them the cockpit, the passenger cabin, the horizontal stabilizer fins, the vertical fin and a portion of the tail.
CLOCKED THE OPERATION Company
On Sunday, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) announced that the company involved in the accident, New York Helicopter Toursfinished its operation.
“The New York Helicopter Tours, the company involved in the fatal accident on the Hudson River (…) immediately stops its activities,” the service said.
“In addition, the Federal Aviation Administration will immediately begin a review of the tour operator’s license and security history,” as she said in X.
New York Helicopter Tours said on her website that she is referring to all requests for comment on FAA and NTSB.
The last time the helicopter had passed a total check was March 1stwhile before the accident he had had seven tourist flights, according to federal researchers.
According to the Mayor of New York, among the possible causes of the accident is a drone or bird or mechanical damage.
The researchers examined two similar helicopters in the research and met with representatives of the New York Helicopter Charter helicopter management company to examine the operating records, policies and procedures, security systems and pilot experience, the service said.
This incident brought back questions about the particularly dense helicopter circulation over Manhattan. At least 20 companies offer tourist flights over New York or even a transfer to nearby airports, and helicopters are flying over the city.
According to New York Times data, 32 people have lost their lives in helicopter accidents in New York since 1977.
Helicopter flight safety is a topic of debate in Congress after 67 people were killed when an American Airlines aircraft collided on January 29 with a helicopter of the army near Washington Airport in Ronald Reagan.
