European Union’s High Representative, Caya Callas, warned European leaders on Monday not to participate in Moscow’s military celebrations on May 9, inviting them to show their solidarity with Ukraine.

According to Russian media, the government of Russian President Vladimir Putin has invited invitations to leaders of China, India and Brazil as well as EU countries such as Slovakia and Serbia, which seeks to join the 27 block.

“What was also clearly discussed, and said by various Member States, is that any participation in the parades or celebrations of May 9 in Moscow will be taken seriously by the European side, as Russia is actually a full -scale war in Europe,” Kalas said in a full -scale war.

She added that the EU does not want to see any candidate for integration to participate in Putin’s celebrations in Moscow.

The celebrations of 9 May mark the 80th anniversary of the victory against Nazi Germany, in which Russia played a key role. Putin has made unfounded allegations that his war against Ukraine is an attempt to “clear” the country from Nazi.

Politico quoted earlier on Monday that Ukraine is calling on high -ranking EU officials and leaders in Kiev on May 9, in response to Russian military celebrations – an invitation reiterated by Kalas after meeting with the EU Ministers.

“I have also invited all the Member States and the representatives of the institutions to visit Kiev as often as possible, to truly show our solidarity and that we stand on the side of Ukraine,” he said.

Victor Orban’s office has stated that the Hungarian prime minister will not attend the Moscow parade. Slovak leader Robert Fitso had stated in November 2024 that he would attend.
