Turkey’s Foreign Minister, Hakan Fidan, today had a meeting in Ankara, with the head of Hamas Political Council, Mohammad Daruis, and members of Hamas’ political office.
Sources from the Turkish Foreign Ministry said that during the meeting, efforts to achieve a truce in Gaza were discussed and it was pointed out that “Israel wants to condemn the Palestinian people to hunger by preventing the entry of humanitarian aid to Gaza and it should be noted.”
The two sides have emphasized that the efforts to expel the Palestinians from their homeland are unacceptable.
During the meeting, the situation on the West Bank was also evaluated and it was noted that the measures taken by Israel to make possession permanent have taken on dimensions that threaten regional peace, the Turkish Foreign Ministry said.
During the meeting, efforts to reconcile between the Palestinian groups with the Turkish side were also discussed that Ankara is ready to provide all kinds of contribution to efforts in this direction.
