A senior Palestinian official who is aware of the ceasefire negotiations between Israel and Hamas told the BBC that Qatar and Egypt mediators have proposed a new formula to end the war in Gaza.
According to the official, a five to seven -year truce is foreseen, the liberation of all Israeli hostages in exchange for Palestinian prisoners in Israeli prisons, an official end of the war and a complete withdrawal of Israelis from Gaza.
A Hamas higher delegation was to arrive in Cairo for consultations.
