Armed terrorists have carried out the most prominent such attack on the giant country in the last two decades
Police have officially confirmed today that the report of the victims of yesterday’s attack of separatist guerrillas against tourists in Pachalgam, a popular destination in the state of Jamo & Kashmir, India, amounted to 26 dead and 17 injured.
This is the most prominent such attack on the giant country for the last two decades.
The front of the resistance (TRF), offshoot of the forbidden Lashkar-e-Taiba (Let)-based terrorist group, took responsibility.
Victims have not yet been released, but sources say that there are at least two foreigners.

The armed terrorists entered the popular Pachalgam resort, called “Mini Switzerland”, and began shooting against tourists around the restaurants, riding a pony or picnic, officials and eyewitnesses said.
“Fighters (…) came out of the forest near a small meadow and started shooting,” he told AFP eyewitness.
It was “clear” that they avoided targeting women and shooting men, “in some cases once, in others repeatedly, it was like a storm,” he added.
The Indian Federal Prime Minister Narendra Monty, who was a visit to Saudi Arabia and has rushed to a hurry, condemned “heinous energy”, promising that the perpetrators of the “terrorist attack” would “be brought before justice”.
The army of India permanently maintains some 500,000 members of his staff in Kashmir, although the battles have been diverged after the prime minister’s government has recalled the region’s limited autonomy in 2019.
The Indian authorities are trying to make the mountain region to become a tourist destination, for example the opportunity to visit the winter months or visits to be relieved of the choking heat to the rest of India travelers in the summer.
Some 3.5 million tourists visited Kashmir in 2024, mostly Indians, in official numbers.
