US Secretary of State Marco Rubio contacted his Indian counterpart, Jaishankar, according to the State Department. According to the same announcement, Rubio encouraged India to work with Pakistan to de -escalate tensions and maintained peace and security in South Asia.

Rubio also called on Pakistani officials to work together to investigate the ruthless Kashmir attack. The US Foreign Minister urged Pakistan to work with India to decline tensions and restore communications in his communication with the Pakistani prime minister, the State Department added.
