Prime Minister Anthony Albanesi’s center -left Labor Party is expected to win the electoral battle in Australia, as the first results seem to prevail over the Conservatives, according to Australian media.

In particular, Sky News Australia and Seven television networks predict that the Conservatives of the Liberal/National Coalition will not be able to distract power from Albanesi, based on the first elements of the count, while the Australian Broadcasting Corporation Analyst, Elections.

Defense Minister Richard Marls told the SEVEN television station that the first results are encouraging and that the recovery of the majority by the labor government “remains a possibility and this is what we are trying to achieve”.

The ballots ended at 11.00 am in Greece in the most densely populated eastern Australian zone in Australia, while the vote in western Australia, where the city of Perth is located, ended at 13:00 Greek time.

The latest polls before opening the polls gave the Labor, although in February they seemed to be lacking in Peter Datton’s conservative coalition.

Shortly after the start of the vote, Finance Minister Jim Chalmers said the labor government “facing all sorts of problems” at the end of 2024, but covered the lost ground due to the effective campaign of Albanesi, the politicians of the government.

“The economy has returned to positive territory – the reduction of interest rates has contributed to it,” he told Australian Broadcasting Corporation.

The country’s central bank reduced interest rates in February, on the eve of the election call, changing the course after 13 interest rates raising the cost of repayment of mortgages for households.

“The sense of influence of US policy,” he also contributed, Calmers added.

For his part, a spokesman for the Liberal Party, Senator James Patterson, defended the party’s positions during the election campaign, which, he said, was negatively affected by the “Trump factor”.

“It turned out to be devastating in Canada for the conservatives … I think here too, how big it will be determined in a few hours,” he told Australian Broadcasting Corporation.

The expected recovery of the center -left labor party reflects the one that scored the Liberal Party in Canada, which returned to power recently, managing to overturn the original correlations thanks to Trump’s duties and observations on Canadian rule.

Meanwhile, Australian Broadcasting Corporation predicts that opposition leader Peter Datton is about to lose his seat.

Duton occupied Dixon’s headquarters in the northern state of Queensland, which he won by only 1.7% in the last 2022 federal elections.

The ABC has already predicted that the Datton opposition coalition has lost the election to the center -left Labor Party.

The leader of the Liberal Party Datton, a former police officer and known for his strict positions on crime and immigration, has been affected by his supposed ideological proximity to US President Donald Trump.
