Pope Leo ID said on Saturday that he would continue the vision and reforms of Pope Francis, telling the Cardinals that the eclipse Pontiff left a ‘Valuable heritage’ which they have to continue.
At his first meeting with all the Cardinals from his election as Pontiff on May 8, Leo also asked the senior clergy to renew their commitment to the important ecclesiastical reforms established by the historic second Vatican meeting in the 1960s.
Noted that the blessed Pope Francis ‘Artistic and solid’ embraced the reforms of the Second Session.
Warned For threats to human dignity, justice, and the work set by artificial intelligence, noting that the Church must take a leading role in dealing with them.
It is noted that the second Vatican session (1962-1965) is widely considered as a reform and progressive On its goals and the changes it established within the Catholic Church and its relationship with the wider world.
The second meeting of the Vatican (Latin: Concilium Oecumenicum Vaticanum Secundum or informally known as the Vatican II) dealt with relations between the Roman Catholic Church and the modern world. It was the twenty -first ecumenical meeting of the Catholic Church and the second one in the Basilica. The meeting, through the Holy See, was officially opened under the Pontifical Pope John KG on October 11, 1962 and was closed by Pope Paul VII in 1965.
