A man convicted of murder, in whom he was allowed to work out of prison, ended today’s life by falling from Milan’s duo, having previously stabbed another employee, the local media broadcast.

Emmanuel de Maria, 35, fell from a height of “tens of meters” jumping from the Gothic cathedral in the square below.

The zone around the Duomo is busy but no one was injured by passers -by.

De Maria had appeared on Italian television last year to describe what life is like in prison. Police have recognized him thanks to his tattoos, while his pocket was found, many sources reported, including the newspaper Corriere della Sera.

The 35 -year -old was sentenced to 14 years in prison for the murder of a woman in 2016. For nearly two years he had been allowed to work semi -worked at a hotel near the Milan Central Railway Station.

Police were looking for him since Friday when he allegedly stabbed a colleague.
