Severe conflicts between opposing armed groups broke out Monday night in Libyan capital Tripoliby pushing the Ministry of the Interior to appeal to residents to close their homes.

Without giving details, the Ministry of the Interior of the National Unity Government (KEE), based in Tripoli, called in a statement “All citizens remain in their homes for their safety.”

According to Libyan media, conflicts broke out between Tripoli armed groups and rivals from the halflarge city and port about 200 kilometers east of the capital.
