His first visit to Albania after taking up his duties by British Prime Minister Sir Kir Starmer, with the main aim of enhancing co -operation to tackle illegal immigration and traffic networks.

The visit comes a few days after the government’s White Bible launched immigration, a plan aimed at a significant reduction in net immigration to the United Kingdom. Starmer seeks to send a clear message to combat criminal networks ‘Taking advantage of people’s despair’ and feed the illegal immigration to the British coast.

In this context, the British Prime Minister is expected to visit the port of Durreswhere he will be informed about how cooperation with the United Kingdom helps to tackle traffickers and arrest criminals using fake documents.

The cooperation between the two countries has already produced results, leading to a significant reduction in arrivals with small boats and deportations, the British government argues.

During his stay in Albania, Starmer is expected to announce the extension her Joint action group for the migrationwhich to date included Albania and Kosovo to include Northern Macedonia. At the same time, it will seek further progress of discussions with Montenegro.

The expanded action group will bring together experts from the participating countries aimed at designing and executing joint ventures for the detection, deterrence and management of illegal immigration. The United Kingdom will enhance the exchange of information, allowing local law enforcement authorities to more effectively intercept the trafficking gangs.

In addition, they will be allocated British Funds for growth unmanned aircraft, with the aim of trapping the criminator where are channeling immigrants through the corridor of the Western Balkans to the United Kingdom. London will also support the countries of the region to strengthen controls at border crossing points.

The extension of the joint action group comes ahead of the Summit of the Western Balkans to be hosted by the United Kingdom in the fall. The meeting is expected to focus on Regional Security, Economic Development and Tackling Common Challenges.

Every step we take to deal with illegal immigration abroad, obstruct criminal networks that facilitate it and limit the financing flows that fund it, offers safer roads in the United Kingdom and reduces pressure on taxpayers’ services. “
