At least 20 people were killed in Kentucky and Missouri, two states in the central US after the crossing of tornadoes, which also caused significant damage to the city of St Louis.
Kentucky’s governor Andy Besir announced in his account in X that at least 14 people died in extreme weather events last night, adding that “unfortunately, this report is expected to increase as much information as we receive more information.”

American media, such as the NBC News and the Washington Post, report that at least 7 dead have been recorded in the neighboring state of Missouri, many of them in St. Louis.
“Our city is mourning tonight,” Mayor Kara Spencer told reporters last night.

“Life loss and destruction are truly shocking,” he added.
In 2024, 54 people in the US had lost their lives in accidents, according to the US Ocean and Atmospheric Observation Agency (NOAA).
