Christian Dyr is the new leader of the Liberal Party (FDP) and Nicole Boutner, his new secretary -general, following the conference completed earlier today. The new leadership promised a new start and recovery from its historic crash with 4.3% in the last elections, which resulted in the Bundestag party excluding the party. At that time, Chief Christian Lindner and Secretary General Marco Bumann immediately resigned, taking responsibility for the defeat.

48 -year -old Dyr said after his election that the election result was “very painful” and asked the party to focus on the issues of the future. “No one will vote for us because we are good. The FDP must re -visible as a voice of logic and progress, “he said.

Ms Butner, 40, is an economist and businessman in the field of artificial intelligence, runs Merantix Momentum, who deals with “smart” solutions for industries and lives in the Switzerland. “I see myself as an unusual solution in unusual times,” he said, adding that “our time requires solutions from and for the economy and that’s exactly what I offer.” Ms Butner also stated open to collaborating with “other democratic parties” and ruled out any relationship with the Alternative for Germany (AfD), rejecting Sverin’s local organization’s proposal to remove the blockade with the far -right.

Along with the leadership, the composition of the FDP bureau was renewed. Among the new members is Susanne Zehofer, daughter of former Bavarian Prime Minister and Christian Communist Commander Horst Zehofer, who had also served as Federal Interior Minister under Angela Merkel.
