“The prostate cancer suffering from former US President Joe Biden was diagnosed last week,” a spokesman said yesterday in response to the US and Donald Trump’s scenario that Biden was hiding in the US.

Joe Biden was 71-72 years old in 2014, when he did the previous PSA exam. Its representatives did not clarify if he had undergone other prostate exams since then.

Not ‘recommended’ to men 70+ with no symptoms

Mr Biden’s services announced on Sunday that the former president, 82, was diagnosed a few days earlier in an “aggressive” form of prostate cancer, which has “metastasized to the bones”.

This cancer is level 9 based on Glisson ranking, which values ​​the level of aggression of cancer on a scale of up to 10.

Prostate cancer is the most common in men. It is the second leading cause of death of cancer patients.

In the US, the PSA examination is not recommended by the CDC, the country’s main federal health organization, in men 70 years and older who have no symptoms of the disease, mainly due to the risk of “falsely positive” effect and unnecessary treatments.
