In Constantinople today, May 24, the Socialist International Council met with the Republican People’s Party (CHP) of the Turkish opposition.
The meeting was attended by 89 parties of the socialist international from 81 countries. The present at the meeting was given by the Spanish Prime Minister and President of the Socialist International International, Pedro Sanchez, and before the start of the work was read by a message from the prisoner of Istanbul, Ekrem Imamoglou, and then the “participants”. The same message was held by the participants in the family photo they took at the end of the meeting.
CHP President and Vice President of Socialist International Ozgur Ozel referred to his inaugural speech in the persecution of Imoglou: “I would like to say that we are sorry there are our brothers who prefer to be silent in this bad period we are going through. What we will remember when everything is over will be the silence of our friends despite the harsh words of our enemies. I would like to express this once again to friends, to those we know as a friend“.
Also said that ‘Turkey is a big country. And this country does not consist of the Erdogan government. As a Republican People’s Party, our aim is to ensure justice in income, justice in the courts and social justice in our country. Our goal is to fully prevail democracy ».
“Our goal is to build a Turkey where the Kurdish issue is fully resolved and there will be no terrorism and violence. Our goal is not to make Turkey a refugee warehouse and to solve the migration issue in cooperation with Europe. And our goal is to make our country a full member of the European Union. We continue this fight with determination“The president of the CHP added.
