The United Kingdom carried out the largest systems test artificial intelligence for defense purposes ever held in the country.
During the five -day exercise in the port of Portland, more than 200 members of the scientific community, the Army and the Industry, as well as international partners from the United States and Australia, worked on growth and Innovative algorithm test.
The aim was to collect critical data for education and verification of artificial intelligence systems, which can support objective recognition, surveillance and faster decision -making in complex business environments.
For the Navynew artificial intelligence tools tested are expected to offer significant advantages in marine surveillance and in recognition of threatsimproving the reaction to critical moments during naval businesses.
At the same time the Royal Air Force will benefit from advanced recognition systems target processing information from multiple sensors at the same time, reducing pressure on pilots and allowing more efficient businesses under demanding conditions.
As highlighted by the Laboratory of Defense Science and Technology, the aim is not to replace the human factor, but the Enhance the human crisis through technology. AI algorithms filter and analyze huge amounts of data, providing a clearer picture of the situation in the field and allowing better decision making.
This exercise was followed by the government’s commitment to increase Defense spending at 2.5% of GDPenhancing the United Kingdom’s military readiness in a period of global uncertainty.
