The mayor of Lviv said another rocket hit the city in western Ukraine today, shortly after two rockets hit its outskirts.
Mayor Andriy Santovigi said another raid had taken place. “Another rocket hit Lviv,” he said in an online post.
He did not elaborate on the exact location of the attack. He said the bombing destroyed infrastructure, but not apartment buildings.
The second military strike was, according to the report, on a military target. There are currently no reports of casualties.
The city of Lviv, in western Ukraine, was targeted by Russian bombardment this afternoon, injuring at least five people, regional governor Maxim Kozicki told the Telegram.
“There were two rocket attacks inside the city of Lviv,” Kozicki said in an online post.
The bomber struck shortly after noon in front of a rally in the eastern part of the city, Litsakivsky, without any reports of injuries or severe damage.
“The information according to which a building or other infrastructure was damaged has not been confirmed,” the governor added.
A resident of the neighborhood told Agence France-Presse that there was a fuel depot nearby.
The governor posted a video on Telegram with himself driving, saying he was returning to the spot. “Everything is under control, (newer) information will follow, stay calm,” he says.
Local authorities have urged residents to seek refuge after strong explosions on the outskirts of the city.
Earlier, the regional governor had spoken of three powerful explosions on the eastern outskirts of Lviv.
According to Stavros Ioannidis, SKAI’s envoy to Ukraine, three explosions were heard and the area was covered with a lot of smoke.
Flames broke out at the scene and ambulances rushed while sirens were heard.
