The Kremlin today rejected Turkey’s proposal to hold a summit between Vladimir Putin, Volodimir Zelenski and Donald Trump, under the auspices of Recep Tayyip Erdogan, stressing that the basic prerequisite for this would be “in the case”.

In today’s statements, in terms of Ukraine, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said that Russia and Ukraine “want a ceasefire” although they have different demands, and that “Turkey is an ideal player” in the negotiations.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov also pointed out that Russia will send to Constantinople on Monday dealership which will be “ready” for new talks with Ukraine, despite the fact that Kiev has not yet officially confirmed his participation.

Russia and Ukraine are expected to discuss the list of terms set by each side to achieve a ceasefire in Turkey next week, he explained.

Peskov also stressed that Russia is pleased that Russian President Vladimir Putin’s position on NATO’s accession to NATO has been understood by Washington.

The Kremlin spokeswoman commented on the statements by Trump’s special envoy to Ukraine, Keith Kogg, who said yesterday that Moscow’s concern about Ukraine’s accession to NATO “is fair”.
