The authorities of the northeast region of Ukraine Sumi, located on the border with Russia, today issued a mandatory removal of eleven villages due to “bombings” as Kiev fears a Russian attack in the area.

“This decision was taken given the permanent threat of the lives of civilians due to bombardment of border communities,” the Sumi regional administration said.

These are several villages near the border. In total, 213 communities in the area have been put under the order of evacuation.

The regional authorities did not report Russian attack in their announcement, but Moscow claims it has occupied villages in the area in recent weeks.

Today, Russia has announced the occupation of another village in the Sumi region of Vodolago village, and the village of Novopil in the eastern Ukrainian Donetsk region.

On Friday night to Saturday, two people, including a young child, died in night Russian raids on Ukrainian regions of Hersona and Zaporizia (south).
