The Gaza Strip Distribution Centers managed by the Humanitarian Foundation for Gaza (Ghf), a newly formed organization supported by the US and Israel will remain closed today for “renovation” work, it has known it.
“On June 4, the distribution centers will be closed for renovation, reorganization and improvement of effectiveness”on Facebook, GHF, an opaque funding organization supported by the US and Israeli government.
He clarified that his businesses at the aid centers will resume tomorrow Thursday.
At the same time, the Israeli army confirmed the temporary closure of the centers.
“It is forbidden (…) to circulate on roads leading to distribution centers, which will be considered battle zones”he said via X.
GHF began its action a week ago and something, after the Israeli authorities partially lifted the absolute blockade of the Gaza Strip for more than two months, during which humanitarian aid was not allowed.
But his action was marked by chaos scenes and information on victims of Israeli fire near his distribution centers. The Ghf He denies that any such episode took place.
The UN and many other NGOs have made it clear repeatedly that do not intend to work with this organizationbecause of their concerns about their methods and lack of neutrality. They are afraid that it was created to serve Israel’s military purposes.
For decades, humanitarian distribution operations were overseeing the UN Assistance and Works Office for Palestinian refugees in the Middle East (UNRWA).
But Israel outlawed this service claiming that it is Hamas’ pretext after complaining that some of its employees were in the raid of October 7, 2023 in the southern part of its territory, the trigger of the war.
